NGOs joined by very passionate green activists today again protested in the city when they came to know about axing of trees at Middha Chowk and many trees axed in a small park nearby . They raised slogans against the corporation ,forest department and mafia .When they went to PS, Kochhar Market to lodge a complaint against axing of trees illegally, they were really shocked to find many trees axed in PS courtyard itself mercilessly. Officially there could tell about any permissions etc obtained from the concerned department for axing trees in PS itself.

Municipal Corporation Ludhiana seems to be least interested in registering FIR against culprits. The application given by them is not followed by them, thus such applications go into dustbin or remain pending with concerned PS. Until FIR is registered against such a heinous crime, it will give undue advantage to unlawful minds. Now MCL must wake up from deep slumber —–Er Kapil Arora
