   Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Sharanpal Singh Makkar on Monday took charge as the Chairman of District Planning Committee in the presence of Cabinet Ministers Bram Shankar Jimpa and Chetan Singh Jouramajra. After assuming the charge, Makkar thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party.                                     

Makkar said that he would discharge his duty with utmost dedication and commitment besides a transparent, accountable, and responsive administration would be ensured. He said that effective implementation of pro-people policies of AAP government will be his top priority. He said that strenuous efforts would be made to facilitate the people and the pace of development works will be expedited in the district. The Chairman categorically said that corruption and inefficiency in the deliverance of services to people would not be spared at any cost. He pointed out that those who indulged in corrupt practices will face strict action. Meanwhile, Jimpa and Jouramajra also expressed confidence that Makkar will deliver effective services to the people and will take the development of district to new heights.

     Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLAs Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Daljit Singh Grewal, Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Hakam Singh Thekedar, Markfed Chairman Amandeep Singh Mohi, Chairman Navjot Singh Jarg, AAP district chief (rural) Harbhupinder Singh Dharaur, senior AAP leaders Dr KNS Kang, Ahbaab Singh Grewal, Gurjit Singh Gill and several others.
